In 1971, Metro Screen was founded by Dwight and Billie Ballard. They provided sign printing services to the Gaston County area. They owned it until 2000 when it was acquired by Brent and Susan Brewer. The Brewer family sold the business to Frank and Angela Kemp in 2011, and the name was changed to Metro Print. In 2012, Metro Print merged with Bel Graphics and moved the business to Mount Holly. Then in 2014 Metro Print had a paradigm shift from signs to decorated apparel. Metro Print merged with Gaston Screen Printing and Embroidery in December of 2021. Then in the spring of 2022, they sold the sign portion of their business to Franklin Signs and Graphics. Metro Print is now solely focused on Decorated Apparel.
